DAY1:
Highlight : Tiger Leaping Gorge | Shangri-La

After an early breakfast, you will begin to drive up to Shangri-La. About 1.5hours into the drive, you have a stopover at Tiger Leaping Gorge. This is one of the deepest gorges in the world. At water level is the Yangtze River. The world’s third longest and the most important river in China. The upper gorge, where you are located, is at the mouth of the gorge and the Tiger Leaping Boulder in the middles of the crushing water.
Following a short lunch (Own Expenses), you will continue to drive up to over 3000m above sea level and destination of The Hidden Valley Resort.
On arrival, to allow your body to acclimatise to the higher altitude, you can relax with light activities such as oil painting, horseback riding with our staff or trying out traditional Tibetan costumes to capture that prefer photography session, or just chill at the tranquil sunset over a grass of warm tea.
Dinner will be farm-to-table freshness prepared by resort resident cook.

DAY2 :
Highlight : Benzilan Jin Sha River | Dongzhulin Monastery

Enjoy an early breakfast followed by a day trip to Benzilan.
Enroute, you will pass the border of Sichuan. Here you can sense the enormity of the mountains that surround Benzilan, north west of Shangrila. Brought over by French monks 100 years ago, the Cabernet Savignon grapes are still grown by the locals in Benzilan.
Visit the U-shaped bend of Jin Sha River, the upper stretches of the Yangtze River. It flows through the provinces of Qinghai, Sichuan and Yunnan in western China. Three mighty rivers of Asia flow here – the upper reaches of the Yangtze, Mekong and Salween. They are part of the Three Parallel Rivers protected area, a Unesco World Heritage Site of wild gorges and glaciated peaks on the border of Sichuan and Yunnan.
After lunch, visit Dongzhulin Monastery. Housing about 300 monks, this monastery is a delightful discovery with its own appeal and “hidden gem” charm. This charming ancient monastery features many incredible Tibetan Buddhism artifacts, thangka, and stupas. Built in 1667, Dongzhulin Monastery is perched on a steep mountain ridge with magnificent views.
Take a scenic route back to Shangri-la and enjoy dinner at the Resort. (Overnight at The Hidden Valley Resort)
DAY3 :
Highlight : Sumtseling Monastery | Shangri-la Highland Craft Brewery | Traditional Tibetan home (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner included)
After breakfast, check out from Estelle’s house and back to Shangri-la. Visit the spectacular gold-roofed Sumtseling Monastery (established by the Fifth Dalai Lama in 1679), also known as Little Potala Palace. This is the biggest Tibetan Monastery in Yunnan province and has many precious cultural treasures
After lunch, visit the Shangri-la Highland Craft Brewery and enjoy a Tibetan beer tasting session, including their award-winning beers (Black Yak, Songhe & Yalaso).
P/S : The brewery operates on weekdays only (Monday to Friday).
This will be followed by a visit to a traditional Tibetan home to appreciate Tibetan culture and partake in their daily life while enjoying some Tibetan snacks. Drink warm yak butter tea and enjoy local staples including tsampa, a high energy stack made of roasted highland barley dough.
You will round up the day with a dinner at the Resort. (Overnight at The Hidden Valley Resort)
DAY4:
Resort to Shangri-La Airport (Breakfast included)
After a leisurely morning, You will be transferred Shangri-la airport for your onward journey. We hope that you have had an enjoyable vacation with us!
